2008 was a milestone in the world of media, in that more people in the US went online than read a newspaper.
In a survey conducted by Pew Research Center for the People & Press in December, 40% of respondents said the Internet was their main source for national and international news. Only 35% said the same about newspapers. That’s a large rise from 2007, when just 24% relied on the Internet more than newspapers.
TV is still the most popular source of news, used as a main source by 70% of respondents.
