Lycos Europe to close

Lycos Europe is to close after it failed to find a suitable buyer. It now plans to break up its assets including its hosting, domain name and shopping service.

Shareholders are to receive €50m (£42m) following the sell off. The closure follows an evaluation period in which Lycos failed to find a suitable buyer.
